Manuka honey is acquired from the bees which feed on the flowers of the manuka bush. This bush is often known as the tea tree that helps in producing this type of honey. This antibacterial kind of honey is found in New Zealand and has natural healing properties that repair the skin affected due to acne. Besides the acne treatments, it also works for a wide range of skin problems such as burns, eczema, ringworm, infected wounds, and much more.

Many dermatologists claim that the honey has the ability to draw moisture out of the bacterial cells that cause acne. The honey rids impurities out of skin, along with unclogging pores and clearing breakouts. The honey functions by penetrating deep in the blocked follicle, killing the bacteria, and unblocking the follicle to release the infection. As the follicle is clear and sterile, the acne heals rapidly while reducing and sometimes, preventing the formation of scars.

Melt the beeswax and then add the oil and honey to the mixture. Keep stirring continuously and remove from the heat after few minutes. Pour the liquid into a bowl and stir it till it cools down. Once it is cool enough, pour the liquid into a clean container before the wax turns solid. For use, dab the balm over the blemishes as frequently as you want.

Before the next use, re-warm the lotion in the microwave.

In contrast, it is useful for people with acne prone skin as it has antibacterial, antimicrobial, antioxidant, antiseptic, antifungal, and anti-inflammatory properties. The hydrating quality of the honey helps decrease the irritation caused due to acne and other skin problems.
