Many people spend a lot of time and money visiting spas and beauty parlors, but very rarely do they use home-made remedies to get themselves a makeover. Moreover, facial masks made at home are cheaper than the ones available in the market.
To prepare this mask, mix 1 tsp of honey and 1 tsp of olive oil. Cook small amount of oatmeal with less water so that the mixture is thick. Now, add this oil and honey mixture to the cooked oatmeal. Apply this mixture on the face avoiding the regions near the eye, and gently scrub. Wash it off with warm water and pat dry.
Egg White Mask
Separate the egg white from the egg yolk, and beat the egg white till it becomes frothy. Wash your face and apply the egg white on your face. After the egg white has dried, wash your face with cold water.
In a bowl, mash both banana and avocado, and then add olive oil and yogurt to it. Mix all the ingredients well, and apply it. Wash it after 20-30 minutes with cold water, and experience the difference.
Oatmeal Tomato Lemon Juice Mask
In a blender, make a smooth paste of two tablespoons of oatmeal, one small to medium size tomato, and juice of 1 full lemon. Apply this mask to your face, and let it dry. It will take about 15-25 minutes to dry, after which you may wash your face with cold water and pat dry.
Turmeric Mask cum Scrub
This is a traditional Indian homemade facial mask. It is usually used by brides-to-be, everyday for seven days before the wedding. You will need 3-4 tablespoons of gram flour, 1 teaspoon of turmeric, 2 teaspoons of sandalwood powder, and 2 teaspoons of almond or olive oil.
Make a paste of all the ingredients using water and apply it to your face. After the paste dries off, rub your face so that the mask is removed. After this wash your face with cold water.
Mix 1 teaspoon baking soda with 2-3 tablespoons of oatmeal. Make a paste by adding water. Apply this mask to your face and rub it gently. Wash it after it dries off, with cold water.
You can always use your own discretion to add or remove ingredients from the aforementioned recipes. However, it is advisable to first read up on how they affect the skin in terms of allergies and side effects, as safety comes first.
