Wrinkles are categorized into static and dynamic wrinkles. When we are young, our skin is supple. The fine lines that appear on our face when we frown, laugh or smile, disappear as soon as we stop smiling or frowning. These are referred to as dynamic wrinkles.
Since collagen and elastin provide strength and elasticity to the skin, maintaining its structural integrity, it can easily spring back to the original position. Static wrinkles appear as we age. As we age, the production of collagen and elastin decreases. The skin loses its elasticity.
When we repeatedly make similar facial expressions, the grooves that form under the skin become permanent on the face. Wrinkles on forehead are classified into two types. Glabellar lines, commonly known as frown lines or the elevens, are deep vertical lines that develop between the eyebrows. One may develop horizontal lines that run across the forehead.

Generally these creams contain hydroxy acids which can help in removing the upper layers of the skin. You could get a younger looking skin if the cream is able to promote the growth of new skin cells.
Though Retin-A creams and other medicated skin creams can help in getting rid of these wrinkles to some extent, make sure that you use only the products that are prescribed by a dermatologist. You could also apply aloe vera, honey, olive oil or almond oil to keep the skin soft and supple.
Botox Injections or Cosmetic Surgery
Wrinkles can also appear when an underlying facial structure begins to sag. Nasolabial folds, which are commonly known as laugh lines, can also become pronounced due to decrease in production of collagen and elastin. Botox injections could help to smooth fine lines and wrinkles. These will cause the forehead muscles to get temporarily paralyzed.
Since the movement of the muscles is restricted, the skin will appear to be smooth. Chemical peels could help in getting rid of the flaky wrinkled skin. Dermal fillers or collagen injections can also be used for removing wrinkles or deep skin folds. Those who are too eager to get rid of wrinkles on face could also get a facelift done.
Smoking can also cause premature aging. Smoking causes the blood vessels present in the epidermis to constrict, thereby limiting the blood flow to the skin. The chemicals present in tobacco may also cause damage to collagen and elastin.
People who have been smoking tobacco for years will certainly be more susceptible to developing wrinkles. The toxins that come in contact with the skin while smoking can also make the facial skin sag. Smoking can certainly put you at an increased risk of getting a wrinkled skin.
