Great skin comes to those who exfoliate with the right products in the right way. It helps you get rid of dead skin cells which results in fresh looking skin. It also removes the tan, treats discolored skin, and provides relief from the dullness brought about by dust, sun, and pollution, giving you an even skin tone.
Shed any doubts, if you have any, about exfoliating sensitive skin, because it is absolutely safe to do so. All you need to keep in mind is that you need to use gentle pressure and a scrub that suits your skin type. Using harsh ingredients for exfoliating sensitive skin is definitely not recommended. Here's more information about the same.
Take a cup of ground oatmeal and ¼ cup of fresh milk. Mix these two ingredients well and apply the mixture gently on your skin. Leave it on for 5 - 7 minutes. Start scrubbing in circular directions. Be gentle. Wait for 10 minutes and wash off with lukewarm water.
Take ½ cup of sugar in a bowl. Take 4 - 5 large strawberries and mash them. Mix both the ingredients well, to make an effective scrub. Apply this mixture on your skin and wait for 5 minutes. Now start scrubbing. Work gently on every part of the skin. Again, leave it on for 10 minutes on your skin and then wash off with lukewarm water. Here's you with a glowing, shiny skin.
Sunflower Seed Scrub
Take a cup of finely ground sunflower seeds in a bowl. Now add ½ cup of heavy cream to it. Mix well and keep adding a few drops of soybean oil as you stir this mixture. Now, apply this paste over your skin. Let it dry slightly before you start scrubbing. Start scrubbing in circular directions applying very little pressure. Using a natural loofah for this scrub is more effective. Wash it off with warm water after 5 - 10 minutes for fresh, glowing skin.
There are a few things that you must keep in mind while you exfoliate. Firstly, the scrub needs to be suitable for your skin type. You can either purchase one from the best brands specially formulated for sensitive skin or make one at home. Homemade scrubs are always safe, as these contain natural ingredients that won't cause any harm. In either case, the ingredients used, need to be mild. Next, the loofah can either be a natural loofah or a washcloth. Using a nylon loofah for scrubbing sensitive skin must be avoided at all costs.
Also, if the scrub contains more granules or is thick enough, you can simply rub it on with your hands. Once you are done exfoliating, wash that part of your skin with warm water. Follow this by application of a toner. Next, you must moisturize your skin with a deep nourishing moisturizer to prevent the skin from drying out. Following this procedure is definitely the best way to exfoliate.
