Homemade Cleansers for Oily Skin

For people with oily skin, cleansing is very important. Excessive oil production from the sebaceous glands can make the skin look tired and greasy. There can be many reasons why you have oily skin―heredity, eating oily foods, pregnancy, and/or hormonal and menopausal imbalance. We all know that it attracts more dirt and pollution which makes your skin more prone to blackheads, spots, and acne.
  1. The first thing you need to do is wash your face at least 2―3 times a day with hot water.
  2. Avoid washing your face with soap, and instead use a gentle, antibacterial face wash.
  3. Before applying makeup, use an antiseptic cream.
Easy-to-make, Natural Cleansers

Even though these cleansers may help keep excess oil away from your face, it is necessary to make a few changes in your lifestyle. Besides eating healthy foods like fresh fruits and vegetables, drink adequate water as per your body weight, and indulge in some kind of physical fitness.

Cleanser #1:
  • Grapes
  • Lemon juice
  • Egg Whites
Take a bowl and squeeze the juice out of the grapes. Add the lemon juice in, and stir properly. Whisk the egg white in and combine everything properly. Using a clean makeup brush, apply the mixture on your face and leave it on for about 20 minutes. You should feel a tingling sensation on your face. Rinse your face with lukewarm water, pat it dry with a clean towel, and apply a moisturizing face cream designed specially for oily skin.

Cleanser #2:
  • Oatmeal
  • Egg white
Take a bowl and mix the ingredients together to make a thick, creamy paste. Mix the paste vigorously and apply it on your face and neck. Leave it on for 20 minutes, or until the paste becomes completely dry. Wash your face with lukewarm water and pat it dry with a clean towel.

Cleanser #3:
  • Tea tree oil
  • Salt
In a bowl, mix tea tree oil and salt together. With a clean makeup brush, apply it over your face and neck. Using your fingers, gently scrub the mixture in. Leave it on for 10 minutes and wash it with cold water. If you have any pimples and/or cuts over your face, don't apply this cleanser as the salt can have adverse effects on it.

Cleanser #4:
  • Tomato
  • Lemon juice
In a food processor, blend the tomato along with half a teaspoon of lemon juice. Strain the mixture to get a smooth paste. Using a clean makeup brush, apply the paste on your face and neck. Leave the paste on until dries completely, wash it with lukewarm water, and pat it dry with a clean towel.

Cleanser #5:
  • Dried orange peel
  • Milk or rose water
In a blender, crush the dried orange peel and milk to make a smooth paste. Using a clean makeup brush, apply it over your face and neck. Let it dry completely and then wash it with lukewarm water. and let it dry. Wash the dry paste off with lukewarm water, and pat it dry with a clean towel.

Cleanser #6:
  • Honey
  • Oatmeal
  • Lemon juice
Mix all the ingredients together and make a paste. Using your fingers, apply the paste on your face and let it dry completely. Wash your face with lukewarm water and pat it dry with a clean towel.

Cleanser #7:
  • Strawberry
  • Honey
Take at least 8 strawberries and blend it in a food processor to make a pulp. Add 3 tablespoons of honey to it and combine it properly. Using a clean makeup brush, apply the paste on your face and leave it for 20 minutes. Wash your face with cool water and pat it dry with a clean towel.
